On first glance the 560 S2 seems to be a smaller version of the 620, and indeed the lines of the hulls and coachroof are very similar. But a closer look will reveal some important differences between the two designs.
While the 620 is possibly best suited to a “galley down” layout (although “up” or “down” versions are available) the kitchen on the 560 S2 has been located in the saloon area for a convivial and slightly and less formal dining experience.
The cabins are very clever indeed. By moving the longitudinal bulkheads a short distance inboard Lagoon have created that extra bit of space so that each of the four cabins is light and airy, with enough room for a proper toilet and shower area and plenty of cupboards. Each cabin even has its own desk! The port aft cabin is entered directly from the aft cockpit rather than the saloon: a nice touch allowing the skipper fast access to the flybridge when required and providing separation from the guests.
Delightful Nauta design touches are in abundance: concealed lighting, neat wine bottle storage, modern, angular joinery and stainless steel fittings. A choice of light and dark wood interiors is available.
Upstairs, the navigation station with single wheel steering is mounted on the centreline and there is plenty of room for additional seating and a sunlounging area. On the foredeck, the 560 S2 features the sunken cockpit well that has proved so popular with the smaller flybridge designs.
Lagoon cabins are very different from the traditionally hull-aligned furniture: the beds, desks and bulkheads positions. The feeling of space is impressive, and all cabins have their own private bathroom with en suite separate shower.
The remarkable use of space is particularly well illustrated by the bathrooms and the size of their furniture.
In the main cabin, the saloon and the galley are separated by a large storage block with working space on top and which can also accommodate a telescopic TV set on the « saloon side ».
The « L » shaped galley is extremely complete, with large working areas, plenty of storage and all amply sized necessary equipment. Optional equipment can also be fitted in the galley or in the gangway nearby.
The forward facing chart table has a real armchair that can be stowed away under the table when not in use. The navigation electronics and the multiplex electric control panel fit into a panel that conveniently recesses into the dashboard when not in use.
The vertical windows of the saloon can be equipped with adjustable blinds so as to perfectly adjust the amount of natural light.
The salon and the cabins all have indirect lighting for a comfortable light at night.
Last but not least, an optional blond teak finish is available, and the Lagoon 560 S2 is offered in 4 or 5 double cabins.
