Lagoon 50

This new boat fits in between the established 450 and the 52, providing an appealing option for sailors in search of a large, modern and seaworthy owner’s yacht. The 50, with her new visual identity, new rig and hull design, offers increased performance combined with a unique signature. The assured elegance of the new 50 captivates through the bevelled shape of her hulls, the generosity of her spaces and her panoramic views that are more accentuated than hitherto.

Performance and ease of use

The decision to move the mast further aft, arising directly from VPLP’s experience in racing, has many advantages:

  • For ease of handling, the 50 has a self-tacking jib and a shorter boom.
  • For more performance, the 50 has a large fore-triangle offering a greater choice of foresails and a high-aspect mainsail, enabling use of less disturbed air higher up.

On Deck

The comfort of the spaces is manifold and extensive. The aft cockpit open onto the sea, the wide and uncluttered transom skirts and the flexible dining area with movable seats enabling accommodation of both large and small families.

A second cockpit offers greater enjoyment of the foredeck, with a dual-purpose seat or deckchair. The flybridge has two secure accesses and a helming station affording perfect visibility. Aft of the helm, the crew is provided with a huge, relaxation space concealing a voluminous stowage area.

Below Decks

The generous, bright spaces reveal innovative architecture where everything is designed to provide a warm and friendly atmosphere.

The innovative saloon design, executed on two levels, provides two distinct but interconnected living areas: a large galley opening onto the cockpit on one side, and a slightly elevated lounge area for a better panoramic view of the sea, which can be easily converted into a dining area.

Unprecedented communication has been created between interior and exterior: of the large panoramic windows, the central one is retractable, thus providing perfect ventilation of the saloon, while providing a connection with the forward area.

The volume and comfort in the hulls were the primary objectives for fitting out the cabins, with particular attention to stowage solutions. Light is everywhere in the cabins, with large hull portholes. The 50’s design enables everyone to find the layout that they want, with three, four, five or even six cabins!
